Hi Millie
Thanks for the feed back about adding layer icing, pattern and colour. I have some visuals that cover all that for you here.
This stage comes in parts....
Part 1 - here I have added icing inbetween the layers and added a 'spot colour' on the icing and cherry.
Part 2 - adding a bit of pattern to the icing between layers. I have kept this simple, because too much pattern will detract from the image, keeping it simple means fast recognistion that it is a cake. More detailed take the image-reader longer to decifer.
Part 3 - looking at the 'two colours' being something different than just the black/white/red combination we have been using to get the design 'right'. Usually using yellow for signage is a bit of a no-no as it receeds and doesn't stand out... however here the dark yellow seems to work, and the cherry stands out.
Part 4 - this is a look at what the design would look like when used in real life situations. I have chosen just a one-colour red to illustrate this because - 1, getting a stamp made can be a really good economical and environmental move when just getting started... you can stamp everything with your logo! Stamp pads come in black, red and there are special multicolour pads too.
This doesn't mean your final design choice needs to be 'one colour' though!
What I need from you now is...
> your chosen version from parts 1&2
> and the colour from part 3 (or feel free to name another colour combination)
From this, I can do the last stage of drawing up your style sheet and delivering all the finished files.
Back over to you.

Hi Millie
Here are the two type faces you liked (2 and 9) on the design you liked (no.2) - and I have cleaned up the drawing a little bit for some cleaner edges.
Let me know what you think. And also if you did want to try another type face.
The next step, when we have a design and type face chosen, will be to look at colours and what the logo will look like in different situations (e.g. on a black background or letter head)
Over to you. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Hi Millie
Welcome to the first round on the branding of this project, where you will find 3 logo designs and 9 type faces.
I have taken the ideas from our meeting - having a circular logo, the 3 layered cake and cherry on top. Something with thick lines would make for a bold stamp, sticker and stencil.
With regard to the type face, I have selected a few for you to see and choose one that represents what you had in mind for that 'handwritten' look.
It is IMPORTANT to note that the logo design visuals are 'drafts' and we can spend time working on the artwork quality later... for now we are trying to nail the idea and design.
The next step would be to get back to me with a choice of which logo and type face you like. Or, if you like bits of one and bits of another we can look at combining elements to get the logo you want.
I shall look forward to getting your thoughts and feedback soon.

LOGO DESIGNS
These are the three logo's, I have included a 'simple' line drawing of this first design, just because it caught my eye. So we have one worked-up and one a simple line drawing.
