What to Expect
|
Whatever your design needs, knowing what to expect and clear communication make for a great working experience. Here is how it works...
Initial Consultation We meet up for an on-line face-to-face consultation - this works well for current pandemic restrictions and International distances. It is in this consultation we will be looking at the needs, wants and purpose of the job, along with ideas and timeframes. Writing the Brief A written brief puts all the ideas and decisions made in the initial consultation into one document. It also maps everything from concept and creation to delivery, into components and a time frame. Having a brief to work to is an important piece of paper, it acts as an agreement of what the job consists of and framework. Prices & Invoice Included in the brief will be a list of items and prices. The prices are agreed before the job officially starts. Providing the job stays within the agreement, this price list is what the invoice is based on. The invoice is supplied at the end of the job, with a 30 day payment window. Design Process Every design job must allow for the 'design process' where there is a back-and-forth until the work fits the brief and is ready for sign off. The design process involves a careful balance of a client's wants and a designers skill and experience. It is possible to achieve this balance - with a low number of back-and-forths - with clear communication and a written brief to refer to. Delivery During the design process, you will receive visuals along the way, through email or for larger jobs, on a secure password-protected webpage. Sign Off When the design is complete, any changes have been made, the work is signed off by you the client. When sign off has been given, files and documents are prepared for the handover. Handover You will let me know whom to deliver the files to; to you, your printer, media person... Large files are delivered using We Transfer. Debriefing After completing the job, we like to take a moment to find out how it went - the process and the results. Through debriefing we can get useful feedback on a changing media world, finding out what worked well and where there is room for growth. Your feedback is important. |
